Reflexology in Pregnancy - Special Care During Pregnancy
Caroline has been trained to know how best to approach treatment at the different stages of pregnancy. Reflexology is a safe, non invasive therapy working on the feet and lower legs. From 36+ weeks the treatment will change to reflect the approaching labour. The intention is to reduce the strength of pain experienced by promoting the body's own pain relieving substances. The woman is encouraged to listen to her body and work with the pain rather than feeling fear and it is probable that this significantly contributes to a reduction of established labour time. Many midwives recognise the effectiveness of reflexology.
At about 32 weeks a weekly reflexology treatment is ideal. However, Caroline is happy to give a single treatment if that is what her client wants. Indeed many people don't consider reflexology until or after the expected date of delivery.
As a mother herself who has been through fertility treatment, pregnancy, labour and birth Caroline understands how her clients may be feeling and absolutely loves it when she is able to meet the babies too!
Reflexology in Labour - Reflexology for Overdue Mothers
Reflexology has a high success rate in precipitating the onset of labour and reducing the amount of pain relief necessary during labour. It also has the benefit of relaxing and calming the nervous system for the coming labour and birth. Reflexology for labour can be commenced from week 37 and has the maximum benefit when carried out weekly until delivery.

Since it is often difficult to predict when you would be able to have a treatment without being disturbed when your baby is born, Caroline is quite happy to give you the treatment while you are feeding or with baby nestled in your arms whilst you are reclined in her chair.
Cost for each treatment session is £40 for 90 minutes.
